The United Nations Security Council,

Acknowledges the General Assembly adoption of the two resolutions that established a
six-point framework for terminating deforestation and the degradation of forests that were named
the United Nations Strategic Plan for Forests 2017-2030 and designated the 21st of April as
“World Creativity and Innovation Day’,

Fully aware of past efforts in Cote d’Ivoire to establish control over the spread of
ownership of land with the creation of the rural land agency in 2016 that became functional in
2018 with the intention to also differentiate village partitions,

Calling attention to the reports by the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization
(FAO) of the almost 18 million acres of forest land that are destroyed every year,

Taking into consideration the data presented by the WWF showing the amount of all
greenhouse gas emissions that result from deforestation is about 15% worldwide,
Deeply alarmed by deforestation’s impact on the carbon cycle weakening all
environments around the globe as they absorb enormous greenhouse gas amounts while releasing
significant amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere which sequentially lowers vapor flows
globally, directly irregulating natural weather patterns,

1. Encourages constructive and practical intervention through the UNSC’s Ad Hoc

Working Group on Conflict Prevention and Resolution in Africa within Cote d’Ivoire, as
well as through other member organizations of the UN;

2. Reaffirms its belief in supervision and reform within the farming sectors across the globe
in the company of a collaboration with the WTO to enhance safety to tropical forest
environments;

3. Insists on reforestation initiatives within the countries that are in the most need of repair
within their forest environments;
