Online job portals fall under e-recruitment process, where web-based tools are
used to assist the recruitment process. Recruiters use this mode for advertising
jobs and search for qualified resumes from the database.
Choosing the right job portal is important as recruitment budget is limited in an
organization. The online job portals are comparatively less costly and has huge
database of qualified candidates. Thereby, the right job portals serve to be cost
effective with access to large number of qualified resumes.
Some of the popular job portals include naukri.com, careerbuilder, monster,
indeed.
The steps in this process are as follows –
 Using clear and accurate job titles, without any jargon.
 Creating clear and to-the-point job description with specific skills,
location, responsibilities, and additional requirements.
 Giving a good explanation about employer and why one should join.
 Interested candidates who are looking for opportunities come to the job
portals and register themselves
 Upon registration, the candidates are requested to fill-in their details and
upload their resumes in the job portal database
 The resumes submitted are scanned and looked for matching keywords
pre-set by the companies. It’s an automated process
 When a candidate’s profile matches with the prerequisites of a company,
both the company & the candidate gets a notification and the further
process gets started.
