1. When it was invented

In 1793 a system based on screw transmission was created, it was a precedent to what
elevators are today. In 1823 the first lift cabin was closed in London.
2. Who invented it
Devised by Ivan Kulibin and carried out by Burton and Homer.

3. Why it was invented

Due to the proliferation of increasingly tall buildings, people used stairs little, in addition to
this, in the face of the evolution of shopping centers it was necessary to have a mechanism
that allowed people to move from one floor to another in a way efficient.

4. How things wpuld be different without the invention.

Cities would not be the same, elevators allow accessibility both for people with reduced
mobility, as well as to take better advantage of the spaces, that is, a company with a
building, multiple offices upwards allows having the necessary space to carry out their
operations and / or also have the space of your plant, while without it, it would only be a
flat space and more space would be required.
Now the houses, there would not be so many buildings, only houses with 2 to 3 floors.
Therefore, thanks to this great invention, physical wear is less, the ease of moving around,
and in less time.
