 Provided daily coverage for San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties as a one-man band for Spanish-speaking
audiences. Filed three stories a day, reported live, anchored frequently, and stacked rundowns in absence of
producer.
 Investigated rumors that Diablo Canyon Power Plant was emitting harmful amounts of radiation and found
agricultural workers near the plant were subject to the most exposure and greatest risk of cancer. It sparked a
county-wide discussion of risk factors in the agricultural community including the effects of pesticides.
 Broke news about the gang-related murder of Guadalupe resident Javier Limón and got exclusive interviews with his
family and 8-year-old son at their home. Continued covering the story throughout the arrest of suspects and trial.
 Developed biweekly segment A Su Lado that kept viewers updated with latest immigration reform news and
expert advice.
