If You Gi ve a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff is a full ci rcle

story. It is a wonder ful book to use to teach sequencing.
There are options provided to both the teacher and students to
practice sequencing this story.
1. The teacher can cut out the objects and gl ue them onto
cl othes pins. While telling the story students can pin the
items in the correct order (see picture above) or teachers
can model the correct order.
2. Students can cut out the objects and gl ue them onto the
acti vity sheets. These sheets are di fferentiated with
options that are with or without words.
3. The retelling cards can be used on a pocket chart where
teachers can model how to retell and sequence the story.
They can also be used for student practice at a center.
4. In addition to sequencing, a writing acti vity is incl uded
where the students complete a sentence with thei r own
ideas.
