This course provides students with both a theoretical and a practical understanding of production
and operations management practices of organizations.
Course Objectives:
Learning Techniques:
To accomplish the objectives of the course Operations Management, we will use a variety of
learning techniques: lectures, presentations, group assignments, and practical application of
statistics using SPSS.
You also have to form Project teams. The PROJECT teams are responsible for the design,
reporting, and presentation of their projects in the light of class lectures collecting data from
practical business fields.
Your learning might be affected if you skip class, since all lectures and tutorial meetings will be
very interactive and are to be assessed in an exam. Therefore, you are not only required to attend
classes but also to carefully prepare for each class and contribute actively to class discussions
and presentations.
OM Project:
In teams of FOUR STUDENTS, you need design your own projects targeting a business or an
industry. You should select a field where sufficient data is available. After collecting data, you
will have to analyse the data to answer the questions you have set for your work.
