Program name: Agroecology and Food Security in the Himalayas.
● EXPANDED my knowledge on agriculture and food-related topics, such as methods of compost,
local plant species, local diets and nutritional setbacks, and sustainable agriculture.
● ACTIVELY interviewed villagers about the workings of their farm and how they cultivate and prepare
food.
● CONDUCTED a nd coordinated a final end project with the village community members that resulted
in an educational book about rare and local plants in order to teach children about ecological
awareness and to instill pride in their agricultural livelihoods.

● RAISED over $100 for the Key Club organization by washing and drying cars, getting their attention
with signs.
● DONATED o ver 50 hours to giving back to the community. Some of the various activities I
participated in were ringing bells during the winter holiday season, cleaning the high school
campus, and singing to children for 3 hours for their elementary school end-of-the-year party.
