Jobs in the Cable and Satellite sub-sector are decreasing, as the estimated workforce in the sub-

sector has decreased over the last two Census’.

Geographically the majority of jobs (over 50%) are located in Greater London, with the second
largest concentration (only 16%) located in the North of England.

Freelancers make up 36% of the workforce in the Cable and Satellite sub-sector.

As a Caucasian and Afro-Caribbean mix, a diversity challenge is presented in the fact that only 9% of
the workforce in the Cable and Satellite sub-sector consist of BAME groups.

In the Drama and Comedy sector the skills gaps most prevalent are:

 Managing people
 Performance management
 Some aspect of social media knowledge
 General compliance
 Self-shooting
 Editing proficiency
 Casting contributors
 General writing skills

In conclusion, after taking into account all of these facts, I would like to pursue a post-production job
in the Comedy and Drama sector.
