I am thrilled to have been asked recently to write a letter of reference for the above-
named individual. I have known Jacob for several years now. I have the privilege of
working at Bethel Bible Chapel in Sault Ste. Marie where I have been one of the pastors
for the past 11 years. Jacob has been attending our church and has been involved with
volunteering both at our church and in the community for many years. I also have
teaching qualifications and have recently been an occasional teacher for the Algoma
District School Board. Jacob is completing his degree as a student teacher through the
Lake Superior State University, Bachelor of Education program.

I have worked with children and youth for over 25 years. Over the years, I have worked
with many different professionals and volunteers. Jacob has set himself apart with his
ability to teach and enthusiasm in and out of the classroom environment. He has shown
dedication to the tasks of preparing and delivering engaging lesson plans as well as
having a genuine concern and compassion for the students that he interacts with.

This is a very busy time in the lives of student teachers as they balance a variety of
commitments including their teaching duties in the classroom. Jacob has been on top of
all this. He really is excited to be doing what he believes he’s meant to do!
