B- Explain how the Lab/Practical Task functioned.
A furnace door is to be opened and closed by a double-acting
cylinder. The cylinder is activated by a hydraulic valve with
spring return. This ensures that the door opens only as long as
the valve is actuated. When the valve actuating lever is released,
the door closes again. The cylinder is to be controlled using a
push button. Pressing the push button extends the double acting
cylinder. The cylinder moves out and opens the door. Releasing
the push-button returns the cylinder to its rest position and the
door is to close. The speed of opening and closing of the door is
to be adjustable. Using the sequence of events outlined above
and using only ISO symbols design a pneumatic circuit to
achieve the desired outcomes.
