About Me

My name is Olivia Forsberg, I am 21 years old and I am currently studying Elementary

Education at Washington State University. I grew up in Wenatchee, Washington with my parents
and younger brother. I have always been close with my family and they have supported me in
every step of the way. My family always encourages me to be my best self and to achieve
whatever I put my mind to. When I was in high school, I ended up becoming part of the Running
Start program. This program allowed me to get my Associates degree while I was finishing up
my last two years of high school. I am so glad that I chose to involve myself into the Running
Start program because I was able to get on track with my degree faster than I would have without
it. I have met so many amazing people along my college journey and in my Elementary
Education program that I know I will keep in touch with as we go into the next step in life.
A passion of mine is writing. I love to write, and I try to give myself time to write each
day. I have found how writing about whatever is on my mind or whatever I am finding myself
feeling passionate about, helps me be my most creative self. Throughout my journey through
learning how to become the best teacher I can be, I have also rediscovered my love for reading.
Growing up I loved to read all the time. It was hard for me to step away from a story once I was
sucked in. I am very excited to get into the classroom and start teaching young students how to
love reading and how there are so many different types of books out there for every person.
Throughout my journey through the Elementary Education program I have learned how
important it is to remember that all students can be going through several different things at
home that they may never talk about. I want to make sure that I am creating a classroom that my
students feel welcome and comfortable in enough for it to feel like a second home and a place
where they can be themselves. I want my students to be able to find their own passions, whether
it be writing, reading, or anything else. As a future teacher I want to ensure that I am providing
all of my students with differentiated instruction that benefits each one. I will guide and support
all of my students by having the resources they need in order to be successful. My goal is to
ensure that all students have the opportunity to grow and learn at the best of their ability.
