Non-governmental organization (NGO) refers to a legally constituted


organization created with no participation or representation of any
government and driven . These organizations are task-oriented perform a
variety of service and humanitarian functions. Some are organized around
specific issues such as human rights, environment, gender, or health. In many
jurisdictions these types of organization are defined as "civil society
organizations."

2. "Transnational Corporations exert a great deal of power in the globalized


world economy. Many corporations are richer and more powerful than the
states that seek to regulate them. Through mergers and acquisitions corporations
have been growing very rapidly and some of the largest TNCs now have annual
profits exceeding the GDPs of many low and medium income countries. It is
important to explore how TNCs dominate the global economy and exert their
influence over global policy making." 

3. The United Nations is uniquely positioned to provide an intellectual leadership in


ensuring that the advantages of economic globalization are equally shared by the
world's population, and that negative effects be mitigated.

1. TRIBUTE TAKING
- One country defeat another in war and then takes its people and
resources back to the homeland.
2. IMPERIALISM
- One country defeats a country and defends this new territory against
invaders
- The aim is to set up a trade network
- The imperial power is often protective and attempts to civilize it.
3. COLONIALISM
- One country takes over another and then set up its own people in the
country
4. GLOBALIZATION
- Multinational companies move into a country and extract its resources
to make a profit.
