Barangay Histony

Way back early on 1940 the setters were known to be muslims mix
tribe and can be counted only in the bare hands until recognize to the juridicial
boundary consideration. The sitio is located at South Easern part and 6.8 km.
away from the heart of the municipality of Labangan.

These sitio are sparely covered with trees, on upland areas with Flora
and Faunna. Instead fishing is one of the sources of income of the setters of this
place and known to be the breeding ground of fresh water, fish species and on
the other hand, the spicy of trees is 'BAKHAW' dominated to be mangrove
domain.

Years time come, this Sitio named Camanga wlll establish that Ilocanos
from Luzon are migrating to the land of Mindanao hoping for a greener pasture,
were some of their families ended-up on this sitio and started for agricultural
activities, such as utilizing and converted the mangroves into farming. As to start
into farming, trees and tall grasses will be developed by the setter in 'BAYANIHAN
SYSTEM' to cut down the tall grasses till the soil planting and until harvesting.

The barangay name is from the muslim word 'CAMANGA' that it means
in English Word 'SHARPING STONE' in Ilocano dialect is 'PANGAS-AN' a bolos to
cut down tall grasses and shrubs.

Today this BARANGAY CAMANGA is the 5th from the biggest barangay
of the Municipality of Tukuran which is composed of seven puroks namely Purok
Orchids, Purok Sampaguita, Purok San Francisco, Purok Waling-waling, Purok
Rosal, Purok Santan and Purok Gumamela
