Week 3 Assignment - Discovering Your Profitable Niche 2.

Fill up this worksheet to get clarity on your niche.

This worksheet has 3 major sections. The three sections are based on this system where we are
overlapping your passion, talent and market opportunity.

1. The first one is to find your passion.

2. The second one is to find the area that you are talented in, or can develop a talent in.
3. The third one is to understand the market needs along with identifying your customer
avatar.
Section 1
Finding your passion.

Step 1: List the top 3 topics that you were interested in as a kid (before 15 years of age).

(What would you usually read about? If you were left in a library with an entire day to yourself,
what are the topics you would pick? You can ask your parents if you are not sure).

1.

2.

3.

Step 2: List 3 top 3 topics that you have been reading and learning about in the past 3-5
years.

(These topics will most probably be different from the topics that you were interested in as a kid.
The topics might have got a little bit more career oriented. You would've been learning what you
were supposed to be interested in as defined by the world around you rather than what you were
really interested in).

Section 2
Discovering Your Talent

(Sometimes your talent and passions will be the same but in most of the cases, you would’ve
developed talent in something else as you grew up. For example, my passion is in astrophysics
and quantum mechanics but I have no talent for it as I’ve never had the chance to practice it.

The market will not pay for your passion. The market will only pay for your talent. To find out
the right answer, you should ask your family, friends, and co-workers on what you are good at).

In section 1 and 2 we had a look at your passion and talent. Now let’s have a look at the market
opportunity. We will first start with assumptions and then move to market research.
Step 1: List out 5 niches that you think has a need in the marketplace and also has an
overlap with your talent and passion.

(Niches are broadly categorized into Health, Wealth, Relationships and Arts.
Within Wealth you will have Career, Business and Investing.
Within Arts you will have Entertainment and Hobbies.
Health and Relationships will have several categories beneath it.
But HWRA - Health, Wealth, Relationships and Arts are the major ones.
Don’t make the niche very broad. Go as specific and as narrow as possible. You can refine this
list once you come up with your customer avatar.).
