Sacred Scriptures:

Luke 2:41

Matthew 5:14-16

“You are the light of the world. Your light must shine upon men so that they will see goodness in your
acts and give glory to heavenly Father.”

Church Teaching:

Gaudium et Spes #48

“Inspired by the example and family prayer of their parents, children, and in fact everyone living under
the family roof, will more easily set out upon the path of a truly human training of salvation and of
holiness.”

Learning Activities:

1. Mary and Joseph brought Jesus up with care, guidance, authority, and love. Did this have any
effect on Jesus’ life?
-Yes. For I believe Mary and Joseph’s way of raising Jesus were full of love and compassion that
became one of the stepping stones of his unconditional love in helping and serving others.
Proclaiming the good news of God. These aspects influenced Jesus to do great in accordance to
the will of God.

2. Draw your lifeline on a piece of paper, marking important and significant events in your lives.
3. Draw out the effects (happy/sad, etc) of the events on them and the cause of these effects.

4. How have these experiences affected your lives/personality/outlook in life?

- My experiences made me who I am now. Honestly, I really don’t know if I am on my better
version of myself or not. For I just don’t know myself lately, I somehow can’t control myself
but burst in such situations that triggers my entire being. Knowing more about life somehow
made me less. One thing, I will never forget is not to depend our happiness and convenience
with others but in our own selves. My experiences truly made me explore about the world,
life in general. It’s really important to protect our peace of mind at all cost, love ourselves,
our family and to be one with nature. Above all, these experiences made me believe the
power of God’s unconditional love to me. No matter how shady the world is, with Him I will
be enlightened to choose greatness in accordance to His will.

5. As future parents, mentors, leaders, or religious, how do you see yourselves nurturing and
bringing up the children entrusted to you by the Lord?

-When planting vines and some bushes, gardeners will attach them to a framework, like a pole
or trellis, to keep them from spreading out of control. As a future mentor, I can see myself
present in their lives, supporting their growth and development, and leading by our godly
example because kids need solid structure to keep their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual
growth on track too.
