Question No. 1. (Lines and line segments)

Find parametric equations for the lines in te following exercises:

1. The line through P (3, −4 − 1) and parallel to a vector i + j + k

2. The line trough P (−2, 0 3) and Q(3, 5 − 2)

3. The line through origin and parallel to a vector 2i + k

4. The line through P (1, 1 1) and parallel to z-axis

5. The line through P (0, −7 0) and perpendicular to plane x + 2y + 2z = 13

6. (a) x-axis (b)z-axis

8. Joining the points P (0, 1, 1) and (0, −1, 1)

Question No. 2.

Find the equations for the plane:

1. through P0 (0, 2, −1) normal to n = 3i − 2j − k

2. The plane through (1, 1, −1), (2, 0, 2), (0, −2, 1)

3. The plane through P0 (2, 4, 5) and perpendicular to the line:

x = 5 + t, y = 1 + 3t, z = 4t

Question No. 4.

Find the distance from the point to line:

1. (0, 0, 12); x = 4t, y = −2t, z = 2t

2. (2, 1, 3) x = 2 + 2t, y = 1 + 6t, z = −3 − 5t

Question No. 5.

Find the distance from the point to plane:

1. (2, −3, 4); x + 2y + 2z = 13

2. (0, 1, 1) 4x + 3z = −12

3. (0, −1, 0) 2x + y + 2z = 4

Question No. 6.

Find the angles between the planes:

1. x + y = 1, 2x + y − 2z = 2

2. 2x + 2y + 2z = 3, 2x − 2y − z = 5

3. 2x + y + z = 1, z=0
