I. Objective:
1. To be able to enumerate the different personnel in a hospital pharmacy.
2. To be able to enumerate the functions and job descriptions of the different hospital
pharmacy personnel.
3. To be able to describe the hospital pharmacy layout based on the different
requirements and guidelines set by the government.
4. To be able to illustrate a physical layout based on the guidelines set by the
government.
5. To be able to observe and comment on the actual set-up of a particular pharmacy.

III. Procedure:
A. Draw a typical organizational chart of a hospital pharmacy.
B. List down the job descriptions and responsibilities of the different pharmacy
personnel. Use the table below as your guide.

C. Enumerate all the guidelines and requirements that should be met in the layout of
a hospital pharmacy in accordance with FDA rules and regulations.
D. Observing all the guidelines and requirements set by FDA rules and regulations,
draw a physical layout of a hospital pharmacy. Take note of the floor area and
sections of a hospital pharmacy that should be present. Include in your drawing
the arrangement of shelves.

2. Describe the prescribed or recommended area/space, ventilation, lighting, and paint
color of a hospital pharmacy or a pharmacy in general.
3. Discuss the importance of complying to the standards set by the FDA in the layout a
hospital pharmacy.
