Meditation

The seated meditation is a common practice among the Hindu and the Muslims. The

Hindu refers to it as yoga, and they consider it sacred. Steve Hickman refers to his form of

meditation as wisdom meditation. He gives clear guidelines on how to perform it when to

achieve it, where to perform it and probably why to perform it. According to the way Hickman

put it, most certainly the whole exercise is not affiliated to spirituality or religion.

Before the process of meditation, there is a feeling of disconnect. There is no

reconciliation between the brain and the sensory organs. A sense of hollowness exists that

triggers self-centeredness. There is little interaction with the environment immediately around.

The physical body parts, especially the limps, feel worn out.

In the course of the meditation, I got to experience diverse challenges, some of which I

could get over, and others remained discomfort. The most destructive problem in the activity was

that I found it very difficult to relax; I can not stop thinking. A lot of things pop up in my mind

that fill my mind, and I find it very hard to shed them off. Still, under relaxing difficulties, I

experience a lot of pains and inflammations in my limps. I was tingling in the legs and arms and
sensation of hotness. Another big obstacle in meditation activity is impatience. Am not settled I

at all, I want to finish fast so that I can go and do something else.

After meditation, there is a special feeling that brings you closer to the present moment.

Upon bringing attention to breathing, the feeling gotten during breathing in is one of calmness

and awareness. A moment of peace is experienced during breathing out. Generally, it helps me

find a space within myself that allows me to experience the sense of self-awareness of myself

that includes every part of who I am; my emotions, thoughts, judgement, fears and cravings.

The paramount lesson learnt from wisdom meditation is that the period meditation and

contemplations a different way of easing the pain in myself and a way of finding peace and

control. It teaches the art of comforting self to feel calm and letting the wisdom from inner to

flow out. It develops some self-trust in the space that I am always in during the meditation

period.

It is beneficial to meditate as Hickman puts it. First, it expands the awareness of self to go

deeper; the consciousness of those things that you do not like and those that you love. By doing

this, you are connecting the more profound wisdom and higher wisdom. Last but not least, you

learn to pay attention to the thoughts and feelings without judgement or attachment hence

making an act of commitment to yourself in some way.

Meditation is a must-do activity for professionals regardless of the area of specialization.

It is a requirement for every professional to have a sober mind, and this goes without saying.

Therefore, they need time away from all forms of activities to refresh and re-energize. Hickman

puts it point blank that meditation helps one to solve complex problems. When they are faced
with issues that are overwhelming, difficult to explain, great deals of stress, intimidation and fear

meditation is the answer.
