1. How to operate advanced avionics systems. Acquire the “how-to” knowledge


needed to operate advanced avionics systems.

2. Which advanced avionics systems to use and when. Learning to manage the
many information now available.

“Alin ang gagamitin at the right time?”

3. How advanced avionics systems affect the pilot. The additional information can
affect the decision making of the pilot.

Safety Issues of Autopilot

• Affected pilots are reluctant to voluntarily reduce the extent of which they use
full automation capability to deal with any situation.

“Ayaw bawasan ang kanilang dependency sa automation sa kahit anong situation,


routine man o abnormal”

• If full automation is not available, or if no longer capable of delivering the a/c


control, tendency is to partially retain use of automation rather than wholly
manual a/c control.

“Given na sira ang automation, pinipilit ayusin ang automatic systems even if partial
control lang ang meron than using manual control muna habang hinahanap problem”
