Optimal Power Flow Example 2

1. Load Project IEEE30Bus.

2. Run Load Flow:

 Observe: Bus10, …, Bus30 voltages.

3. Go to OPF and Set up Study Case:

 Objective: Minimize Real Power Losses.
 LTC Control: T4-12 & T6-10.
 AVR Control: U1 V = 100 % & Gen1 V to Gen5 V between
95% and 105%
 Shunt Comp Control: Cap2 and Cap 3 between [0,10] with initial 5.
 Bus Voltage Constraint: All bus V between [95%, 105%].

4. Run OPF:
 Observe load bus voltages.
 Check control settings.
 Compare Load Flow and OPF real power losses:
