NOTE!
This manual contains only description of Layouts! All other settings are described in Codeks Manual.
Requirements for successful work with user application is properly installed Codeks Addon Layouts.
Pictures in this manual are screenshots taken form user application, running in web browser.
Codeks Addon Layouts software is distributed together with Jantar hardware which means:

Codeks Addon Layouts binary code may NOT be used or reverse engineered to recreate the Codeks access
control, time and attendance or communication algorithms which are proprietary and protected by
copyright law.
Codeks is distributed "as is". No warranty of any kind is expressed or implied. You use the Codeks at your
own risk. Neither the author nor the agents of author will be liable for data loss, damages, loss of profits
or any other kind of loss while using, misusing or being unable to use this software

Installing and using the Codeks Addon Layouts signifies acceptance of these terms and conditions of the

If you do not agree with the terms of this license you must remove Codeks Addon Layouts files from your
storage devices and cease using the product.

2. Installing Software
Codeks Addon Layouts is upgrade for Codeks AC or Codeks TA application. You must first install Codeks
Addon Layouts manually with double-click on the file CodeksAddonLayoutsSetup.exe and then enter the
valid license code.
Since Codeks Addon Layouts in an upgrade for Codeks AC or Codeks TA, you already have existing folder
Codeks. The installation will ask you if you would like to install to that folder anyway. Select Yes.
Finish installation:
The license code is activated through the License Manager window that can be accessed via Codeks Service
Manager. Codeks Service Manager can be opened by double clicking on its icon, which is located on your
computer desktop, or by double clicking on the file CodeksServiceManager.exe, which can be found in the
folder C:\Program Files\Codeks.
In the Codeks Service Manager click on the Licenses button. During entering of the license code the Codeks
Service Manager must be Stoped.
License Manager window will open where you can enter license code for Codeks Addon Layouts. Click the
Add license code button and the enter the license code.
New license code for Codeks Addon Layouts will be added to the list of license codes with the same
validation date as your main application Codeks AC or Codeks TA. Click the Save button to save the changes.
Start the Codeks Service Manager and continue with using the Codeks application.
3. How to Start?
You will work with layouts in Codeks AC or Codeks TA application. To access Layouts, select Monitor/Layouts
on the Main Menu of your Codeks application.
4. Layouts
Layouts are used for monitoring your access points which are marked with layout markers 19 . Live events
for a certain location are simultaneously seen when you are monitoring a certain layout, which you select in
the Layouts Editor.
You can add 16 , edit 17 or delete 17 layouts. You can use .jpg. or .png format of the picture and add any
number of layouts in the system. All layouts are displayed in Layouts Editor.
IMPORTANT!
You must select and upload appropriate layout picture according to the size of your screen, otherwise you
will not be able to monitor all events simultaneously.
Clicking on a certain layout will open new window Layouts where you can work with selected layout and
markers. You can fins picture of Layouts on the next page.
A new window will open where you can enter layout's name and Upload photo from your computer. You can
use .jpg. or .png format of the picture and add any number of layouts in the system. Click the Save button
to add new layout.
5. Layout Markers
Layout markers are used to mark the access points on the layout.
IMPORTANT!
For markers to work properly, Hardware, Locations, Timetables, Groups and Users in the Codeks
application must be properly set first!
To work with markers go to the Layouts where you can add or delete markers. With markers you can
overview certain events 20 or present users 21 and manage readers 22 .
Blue with the cross icon: Marker of this passage is not on the layout.
Blue without the cross icon: Marker for this passage is selected on the
layout or passage is selected on the list of locations.
Red without the cross icon: Marker for this passage is on the layout, but
it is not selected.
To move the marker around the layout, the Lock markers icon in the Layouts menu must be enabled. Select
the marker and hold it with your cursor. Now you can drag the marker around the layout and set it into
desired position.
Right-click on the marker you wish to work with. With markers you can:
- show events for a certain passage in new pop-up window,
- show present users for a certain passage in new pop-up window and
- manage readers with Open, Lock, Unlock, Toggle, Enable, Disable, Unblock action.
Actions Description
Open This action causes the door to open (unlock) for the time set in the controller's Times settings (Hardware).
Lock This action causes the door to stay locked which means no person can pass the door without using the
card.
Unlock This action causes the door to stay unlocked which means anybody will be able to pass the door from this
moment on until the door is locked again.
Toggle This action will toggle the door lock/unlock status which means the door will lock if it was unlocked or
unlock if it was locked.
Enable This action will enable the reader, when it is blocked, until the next reset or restarting of the controller.
Disable This action will disable the reader, when it is enabled, until the next reset or restarting of the controller.
Unblock When the reader is blocked (Hardware / Reader Options) it can be enabled with action Unblock (in Monitor
or Layouts) for the period of time Unblock for (sec), set in the controller's Times settings (Hardware).
This will delete the marker from the layout. On the list of locations the passage of the deleted marker will
6. Locations
The tree structure of Locations consists of buildings, floors, rooms and passages which can be add 25 in a
certain order.
You can start your tree structure of locations with building or any other sub-location. To add location click
Add location button in the left upper corner of the Layouts.
WARNING!
When you are adding locations take into consideration that you can assign timetables to groups only with
passages. You can do this in the Codeks application.
You can select any location and add a new sub-location to it. Blue color indicates selected location. Click the
Save button to add sub-location to the selected location and click Close button when you are finished.
If you make a mistake, you can immediately delete the location. Right-click on the location you wish to
delete and select Delete location on the menu. You cannot delete location with sub-locations. In this event
you must first delete the sub-locations. After the removal, the location list is refreshed.
You can set Auto unlock & lock when you are adding or editing passage. To set Auto unlock & lock timetable
for a certain passage you must either choose one from the drop-down menu or create a new timetable in the
Codeks application. Select the timetable from the drop-down menu and click the Add location button. The
selected passage will automatically unlock and lock according to selected timetable.
Edit location's data and save the changes by clicking the Edit location button.
