Classroom Rules and Consequences
Rule: Students must respect the
teacher, their peers, and the
equipment used in class.
Rationale: Everyone deserves
respect, even if you don’t agree
with them. Respect for equipment
leads to long-lasting resources that
help students learn. Lack of respect
leads to a negative classroom
environment. We are creating a
positive environment where
students’ feelings and ideas can be
shared without fear.
Rule: Students will arrive at class
on time and be prepared with
materials.
Rationale: Students will not be
ready to learn if they are late. They
will miss instructions or important
information needed and become a
disruption to other students. If
students do not have the materials
needed for class then they will
disrupt other students and keep
them from learning.
Rule: Students may use their cell
phones for class-related purposes
First warning: Students will be
reminded of the positive
environment that is in place.
Second warning: Students will
have a meeting with the teacher
during class and parents will be
notified.
Third warning: Students will meet
with the teacher, administrators,
and parents to discuss further
action.
First warning: Students will
receive a reminder a verbal
reminder at the end of class.

have an in-class meeting with the
teacher to discuss tardies and
parents will receive a notification via
phone or email.
