· TIHAR AND BHAI TIKA

Similar to india`s Deepawali,Tihar is also a


festival of lights.It ends with the Bhai Tika or
Bhai Dhooj, wherebrothers are reminded of
their role of protection and love through
customary rituals completed by their sisters.
Sisters pray for their brothers' long lives, while
brothers promise to love and respect their
sisters. the tika, which the sisters applies on the
forehead of her brother, marks the love and
bonding she shares with him.

Tihar and bhai tika are special day


for all of us.
· KHICHA PUJA
Kicha Puja is celebrated as a party of the Tihar
festival, where cows, dogs and crows are
wordhipped and offered food. A tika is placed
on the forehead of cows and dogs and garlands
are placed on their necks. Cawing of crows is
taken as a bad omen in Hindu mythology.
Therefore, people offer crowsw, food to keep
them from cawing and bringing in bad luck.
Since cows have been worshipped since ancient
times by the Hindus, as they provide human
beings with milk, they, too, are worshipped
during this time. Dogs are thanked for their
loyalty and friendship.
