 Multiple Item Stock Calculation

This section describes the screen for calculating spare parts stock for multiple items.
For information on how to perform a multiple item spare parts stock calculation, see:
Batch processing of a Spare Parts Stock Calculation
For information on necessary customizing activities, see:
Customizing Profiles for Spare Part Stock Calculations.

The following screen areas are available for working with the Multiple Item Spare Parts Stock
Calculation:

Application toolbar
From the application toolbar you can trigger the following functions:
Button Function
Start calculation Perform a calculation for the parts selected
Result Show details of calculation result (go to selection of criteria for results
report)

Parameter selection
In this screen area, you specify for each parameter the type of data to be used for the
calculation and the sequence the system is to use when checking these sources for available
data.

The initial data source and value displayed for each parameter is determined by the assigned
customizing profile, see screen area
Settings .

Depending on the parameter, you can select from the following types of data:
• Manufacturer data
• is retrieved from the Initial Provisioning (IP) database.
• Default values
• are obtained from the customizing profile if you have specified values there. You can
overwrite the proposed value in column Default values.
• System data
• can be supplied
• for MTBE by the history of maintenance events in the system, see:
• Extraction of MTBE (in case of MTBE, the data source is differentiated by the
event: removal (R), unscheduled removal (U), or failure (F)
• for Repair Time/Prov. Period by a customer exit (SAP enhancement ALGEX005)
• for Transport time by a customer exit (SAP enhancement ALGEX005)
• for Essentiality Code by a customer exit (SAP enhancement ALGEX005)
• for Workshop by the material master
• for Price by the material master.
• Aircraft data table
• : this data source exists only for number of aircraft and operation time (access from
Single Item Stock Calculation screen, see:
• Single Item Stock Calculation).
• You specify the number of aircraft and operation time in the aircraft data table
• You can specify service levels in the Essentiality Code Table.

Data source
determines the sequence in which the system reads data for each parameter. For each part to
be calculated and each parameter, the system checks for available data as specified in
Source 1. If no data is available, the system checks the data specified in Source 2. If this also
does not yield a result, the default value specified in column Default is used.

For example, the following data sources are specified for parameter Repair time / Provision
period:
Parameter Source 1 Source 2 Default
Repair time / Manufacturer Data System data 40.99
Prov.period

When performing the calculation, the system checks first if manufacturer data is available for
the Repair time/Prov. period of the part in question. If no manufacturer data are available, the
system checks for system data. If no system data is available, the system uses the default
value (in this case 40.99) for the calculation.

If you explicitly want a default value to be used in a calculation, select Default value as Source
1.

If you want to use a fixed value for a parameter, set Source 1 to Default value. You can
overwrite the proposed value displayed in column Default value.

Settings
In this screen area general settings for the multiple items stock calculation are displayed. You
specify these settings in a customizing profile for a multiple item stock calculation, see:
Default Settings for Spare Part Stock Calculations. You can change the
proposed values.
