Statistical Treatment of the Data

After all the data are collected from the employees, these will be checked for nonresponse and
will be treated accordingly based on their effects to the current investigation. These will be then
encoded in Microsoft Excel for ease of tabulation and analyses using codes. All the data will be imported
to IBM-SPSS (Statistical Packages for the Social Sciences) for final analysis.

To determine the profile of the employees, frequencies and percentage distribution will be used
and will be accompanied by figures and charts when appropriate.

To determine the work environment and management styles of the respondents of the study,
the level of importance of their Filipino work values, and level of work motivation, descriptive statistics
specifically the means and standard deviations will be computed. These will be interpreted using some
guidelines and standards.

To determine the relationship between work values and motivation, the Pearson Product-
Moment Correlation Coefficient will be used. The computed correlation coefficient will be interpreted
using the guide below.

Range of Correlation Coefficient Values Interpretation

± 0.91 - ± 1.00 Very strong to perfect relationship
± 0.71 - ± 0.90 Strong to very strong relationship
± 0.51 - ± 0.70 Moderate to strong relationship
± 0.21 - ± 0.50 Small to moderate relationship
± 0.00 - ± 0.20 No relationship to small relationship

To compare the level of work values and motivation among the Baby Boomers, Generation X,
and the Millennials in the workplace, the Two-Way Analysis of Variance will be used.

All statistical analyses will be performed using IBM-SPSS and statistical significance will be
evaluated at the 0.05 level.
