HTML5 is the fifth implementation of HTML and defines an HTML syntax that is

Chapter 9
1. Using software for automatic translation of webpages into other languages for local
audiences saves much labor cost and time. If you were an executive for a company that
maintains a multilingual website, would you settle for software-based translation only?
Why or why not?
 If I were an executive for a company that maintains a multilingual website, I would settle
for software-based translation only as with technology nowadays, we can use the same
XML code for online transactions between companies and customers. This is because
with the use of many languages, special characters are put into use as well. The software
used in these special characters ensures that the XML tags and statements remain
unchanged from the original language allowing websites to use the same XML code for
online transactions between companies and customers.
6. Many organizations, especially multinational corporations, must consolidate reports to
ensure smooth operations. These reports include currency, measurements, and dates.
How would you help them receive reports “on the fly” that are in the desired currency
and format?
 “On the fly” report is the total cost of delivering the goods directly to the doors of the
buyers. Programs could be invested on and installed to implement information of the
desired item along with the country destination by capturing the product and having the
export manager see how much it would cost the company to ship the goods and how long
it would take until the customer would receive the product (having the product held back
by customs until having the goods being received by the customer).
7. Many European countries have stricter privacy laws than the United States. What is the
impact of this discrepancy on multinational corporations with offices on both
continents? In terms of business functions, which activities, in particular, are affected?
 Companies that have stricter privacy laws than the United States would not be able to

the European laws. This could affect international transfers relating to data, free speech,
and legal proceedings between buyer and seller.

shaped by a country’s culture.

challenges in some countries. Give two examples of such challenges.
