Thank you for the opportunity to assess your company and recommend data driven decision
making strategies. The analysis and recommendations below are based on my review of your
company. The analysis below is based on information provided by your staff. Therefore,
our recommendations should be tempered by your knowledge of business realities and your

Analysis and Recommendation

Company key stakeholders can either effect or affect a company’s goals. Depending on the
company’s mission, the stakeholders are the ones in charge of making final calls. There can
be many key stakeholders which include; employees, managers, directors and company
shareholders. Each person who is a key stakeholder should be involved in the daily
operations since each person brings in a different respective. Each person/department is
valuable in its own way. Another group of key stakeholders are your customers and vendors.
Without the involvement of all key stakeholders, your business would not be functionable.

Collection Information – Step I
Analysis and Recommendation
When it comes to data, I looked at all aspects of your business, but I focused on sales
and inventory. Due to that fact that we are wanting to reduce cost and increase profit, we
need to take some items into consideration. We need to look at what you are selling
most of, which items you are selling the least amount of. We must also look at the turn
around times of shipping out items, etc. When we look at this type of quantitative data,
we must look very carefully.
We must also look at what items look like; do they look appealing to your customers?
Visually appealing items are what attracts your customers. This Qualitative data is
essential.

Data Collection & Information – Step II.
Analysis and Recommendation

Data should not go back too far; we must look at least a year back. I will be gathering data
from your accounts receivable clerk to see your purchasing costs. I will also be gathering
information from you staff accountant to see your financials.

Some of the main questions I will be gathering will be similar to the one’s notes: What were
your sales from the past 4 quarters? Where are your biggest sellers? Have you priced the
market lately to compare your costs to others? What can we cut from our budget that isn’t
necessary?

We also need to evaluate the 5 step business process, with this we could use all five. We need
to analyze, design, implement, interpret and then act. Once we have the gathered information,
we will then be able to do some data forecasting.

Once I have gathered the data I can then begin to plug in numbers into different algorithms.
Your data can then be entered into an excel spreadsheet and show you your information
through data visualization. I will then compare the financial data from past years to the most
recent financial information.

Analysis and Recommendation
Once I have completed analyzing your information, I will then have a meeting with
management and company officers. Once speaking to all these people, we can then being to let
everyone else know of the future plans for RGV, Inc. Data Visualization will be the majority of
my presentation. Since data visualization will engage everyone it can also help everyone
understand the data in a much clearer light. It may best that I use line graphs, bar charts and pie
charts. Once we get to this step we would then being to implement the new changes. When
everyone is on the same page, we will later begin to act on the plan. Once you all being to
implement and act on the new changes, you all will increase profit and reduce your costs.

SELF ASSESSMENT
From completing the project, I learned what it would be like to become a business consultant. I
liked the fact that someone else’s business can thrive because of recommendations made by me. I
like the fact that one person can help another company grow to its fullest potential. I know there
is still so much more that goes into these types of memos, but I think I would like to give it a try.
I currently work at a company in Mercedes and I think I would like to shadow our staff account
to see what type of data she deals with on a daily basis.
Data is something that is clearly important for a company’s well being. Without it, you wouldn’t
know where you money is going, or how invests are handled. You also wouldn’t be able to see
where you are losing money and how you can (quickly) fix it. I know have a better
understanding of why business relay so much on data and how much it influences many
important decisions.
