Notes:

1. Provided a proven correlation between Cetane Number and Cetane Index (ASTM
D976/D4737) has been established relating to the crude being refined, the Cetane
Number specification may be replaced by a Cetane Index specification with a
minimum value of 48. The basic need is that the product shall have a minimum
Cetane Number of 45. The correlations valid for crude derived product only and is
not applicable to product from synthetic refineries (RSA Sasol and PetroSA).
2. 1 cSt = 1mm2/sec
3. In case of dispute test method ASTM D4052 shall be used.
4. FAME is a biodiesel component derived from natural oils extracted from vegetable
matter and that conforms to the South African, Automotive biodiesel fuel, SANS
1935.
5. The fuel shall be clear and free from visible water, sediment, suspended matter. and
any other contaminant that can cause malfunctioning of equipment designed to use
this type of fuel.
6. Any additive, (e.g. lubricity improvers), must be approved for a multiproduct pipeline
that carries Jet A1. All additives added must be declared on the batch certificate
provided.
7. The sulphur level of 10 mg/kg has been selected for a dedicated supply route.

8. For all LR vessels the following Exceptions shall apply at Load port
