A Message From David Barry, President – Pursuit

Following the tragic accident that occurred at the Columbia Icefield on July 18, we at Pursuit are
focused on three very important priorities.

 Doing all we can for those involved and their families, through Victim Services and by
offering direct and respectful support.
 Actively supporting a transparent and multi-agency investigation into the cause of this tragic
accident. This includes conducting our own internal review which will be shared with the
public once completed.
 Taking care of our team at Pursuit whose dedication to colleagues, guests and first
responders is truly honorable.

To respect the time and space needed for this process, we have paused operations at the Columbia
Icefield Adventure while the investigation is underway.

Training and passenger safety have been hallmarks of our operation for more than 39 years of
operating the Ice Explorers. We have safely guided over 16 million passengers across this terrain.
We await the completion of the investigation and will take any recommendations into careful
consideration for future operations.

Natural monuments like the Icefield give us strength and resilience. As we work through this very
challenging time, we’re grateful for the support of our community and we’re comforted by the
beauty that surrounds us.
