[Service Cloud] - Data Studio Report

As the first point of contact and introduction to the CRO/Analytics/SEO team 24/7 Support Guide, we prepare a Data Studio report for the Client
business, gather initial insights about the store performance and potential improvement areas and send the first email for sharing the Data Studio
report, sharing insights and introducing the team.

To communicate with client follow these steps:

1. Create a Jira ticket and inform client that you will make a report and explain the main reasons why it will be made in Data Studio. This
ticket can be used as template: MAAS-58 - {Client name} preformance Data Studio report and initial insights COMPLETED In
this ticket you should log time spent on making the report and working on suggestions (~8h). Use components CARE; MAAS
2. Create Data Studio report. Use templates and instructions given in the next paragraphs.
3. Prepare a document with 3-5 suggestions and detailed explanation, visual examples. Here you can view the template that is built on the
example of BUDO & FITNESS: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hMoUPvp7bW4tqXJsBPn5pah9dKT9eiuk7gXpz066UPU/edit?
usp=sharing
4. Create a separate ticket for every suggestion. This ticket can be used as template:
MAAS-54 - The filters on Swedish stores' SERPs pages are broken COMPLETED
5. Send an email to client with a short intro of who we are, why data visualisation is useful and add the links to Jira tickets with suggestions.
Scroll further to copy the template/example email.
6. Update the first ticket where you logged time - add short summary from the email, links to the report and the document and links to Jira
tickets. Here is template for worklogs: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Em0MvzVWuQUVzsMTqfUotmk3B5KgGS67wuBGadFqZ-g
/edit
7. Update the spreadsheet with all the information about DS reports: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d
/1Y1R2lZbv9WRghxXhAuQq9pMaKquQQaCJYORz6OWT_UI/edit#gid=2116578794 Add the date when you created tickets and links to
the tickets. If there is no tab for client, can duplicate the existing one and rewrite the details. If there is a tab but there is missing any info,
then you can find it in our Support Accesses page and fill the tab.

HOW TO CREATE A DATA STUDIO REPORT FOR SUPPORT CLIENTS (based on template)

1. In Accesses page check whether we have access to clients GA data ( https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SYxRY-

NuDHUmptCmLGId7hoLCCPYv0CJHe3Py-xSzrU/edit#gid=184060096 ) If we don't have, ask client. If we do, read the next step.
2. Check clients website and find GA tag/-s that is/are added to website. You can use Tag assistant in Chrome Analytics account http://prnts
cr.com/j9c519
3. Find clients account in GA and decide on which GA View you want to base your report. I suggest to work with View that has the most
data e.g. the biggest amount of users. Be careful when choosing cross-domain property - View "All data" - clients might have different
strategies for every market or even radically different websites.
4. Check the complexity of GA set-up - does it have ecommerce tracking, does it have enhanced ecommerce set-up, what about the
events, do they have specific goals?
5. Open the template and make a copy of the report: http://prntscr.com/j9ccll
6. Change the sources you will use. http://prntscr.com/j9cgfg http://prntscr.com/j9cgwp http://prntscr.com/j9ch86 http://prntscr.com/j9chz6 I
f you see Source name that includes EEC Funnels, DS Report, Shopping Behaviour or Checkout Behaviour don't change the sources
yet.
7. Compare DS report (DSr) data with GA in the same period e.g. are amount of users in both reports equal? By default the overlooked
period is 'Last quarter'. If everything is ok follow the instructions below about specific pages.

Page 1. Overall Performance

1. Adjust the Goal section: http://prntscr.com/j9crxp If the client does not have any goals, you can look up for specific event and add filter to
see only this event. http://prntscr.com/j9cszm
2. To fix the table "Performance of Traffic Channels" click on it and on the right side should open "Data" column. Click on field "Invalid
metric" http://prntscr.com/jcpvow Then Create new metric Cancel ( http://prntscr.com/jcpzwl ) find field "Revenue" and make a duplicate
http://prntscr.com/jcq0bp press "Done" Click again in "Invalid metric" and choose "Copy of Revenue" Rename it as "%Total Revenue"
and change it to % of total http://prntscr.com/jcq26g
Page 2. eCommerce data & Sales funnel

1. If client has EEC set-up, create a sales funnel based on instructions given here: Shopping and Checkout Behaviour reports in Data
Studio If client has both, good, if only e.g.Shopping, make just one - there is no point to take the space if client has checkout funnel with
1 step - Transactions. The same is with Shopping funnel - if it has only All Visits and Transactions - you won't get any specific data.
Instead add some charts of events or goals.
2. If client does not have EEC, think about options how to show sales funnel. E.g. you can use page filters to make groups. If you see that
data is not having any logic, skip funnel and insert other data that might give insights e.g. what events users are making, FYI many
clients have LiveChat as events.
3. If client does not have EEC, Product Performance table has 1 more column %Total Product Revenue. To make it complete follow the
same instructions as in previous paragraph 2nd point. But this time choose metric "Product Revenue" and rename it as "%Total Product
Revenue".
4. If you don't show any Sales funnel, rename the page to e.g. eCommerce data and Event.

You can change the placement of charts if you need more space.

Page 3. Users & Audience

1. Pie charts "Total Transactions per User and Session" are made in Google Sheets and have filters. To create chart with your own data
follow the instructions:
Open an existing spreadsheet with automated reports of Transaction per User/Session e.g. this: https://docs.google.com
/spreadsheets/d/1UC9LirJNIZ_lhlMtvqZ7vcAcZsgdO4Fcc3376H60G7A/edit
Make a copy of it and add the View ID of the client, run the report and check if in tab "Users" data is the same as in
"Transactions per User" and in "Sessions" - "Transactions per Session". Make sure that file name is Client name + DS report or
EEC Funnels e.g. Ame Pure DS Report
In DSr click on chart "Users" and create new Data Source - Google Sheets (Spreadsheet name) Users http://prntscr.com/j9dku8
This should be done by the same principle as Automated Funnel report adding to DSr. Change "% of total" to Percent.
Adjust the Goals in table at the bottom of the page. If client does not have any goals, rename the table as Conversions by Age &
Gender.
Adjust the map according to client business.

Page 7. Website Content

1. If you see that data in the 1st graph overlaps change the format of it to a table (http://prntscr.com/j9dv6f), make column type as Bar and
mark "Show the numbers". (http://prntscr.com/j9dxn1)

Page 8. Site Search

1. If client does not have enabled Search functionality delete this page

If you see that graphs in other pages are not relevant to your client, change them.

After the data set-up is finished:

1. Change the name of the report: http://prntscr.com/j9fa9p

2. Add the websites address: http://prntscr.com/j9fb2d

3. Insert a logo of client and make it report level: http://prntscr.com/j9fc9t

4. Delete unnecessary sources: http://prntscr.com/j9fd7t In most of the cases report should include 1 GA source and 4 Spreadsheets: Shopping
Funnel, Checkout Funnel, DS Report - Users, DS Report - Sessions. If you have added other spreadsheet or other View e.g. blog then sources
will be more.

5. Share the report with everyone and add the link of DSr in our Support client Accesses page you used at the beginning. Do the same with links
to Google Sheets. Check if you can open report in Private browser.

6. Add links to DSr and Spreadsheet in Support Access page used by developers e.g. https://scandiweb.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DEALS/pages
/221773848/Accesses

FIRST POINT OF CONTACT EMAIL

Email example:

Hello, {{Client name}}

As part of “Support 24/7 Care” Scandiweb team prepared a snapshot of your business-important data to help you understand where eCommerce
store is leaking money.

{{Screenshot of the reports 1st page}}

*Scandiweb "Support 24/7 Care" service is aimed at helping our clients improve their eCommerce store's business performance, conversion
rates, and User Experience.

As a part of this service, our Analytics, CRO and SEO experts perform series of checks, tests, and analysis to identify the areas where the store
is leaking money, areas with Organic Search technical issues and UX improvement possibilities. All our activities are aimed at improving the
overall store performance, converting more site visitors to users and retaining the converted customer, hence to make more money for your
business.

BUSINESS PERFORMANCE DATA VISUALIZATION - WHY?

We know that data analysis can be complicated and biased if there is no wireframe to follow. It can be challenging to interpret hard numbers,
make valuable insights and spot trends from big datasets. On the other hand, when the data is visualized, it makes the whole process much
easier.

For you and Scandiweb to be able to follow the store business performance and KPIs daily, we have developed a Google Data Studio report for
the data visualization and custom report building. These are basically dashboards containing key data about user behaviour, platform
performance, and user interactions.
