OBJECTIVE
My role as a teacher is to mentor and coach my students to put their best
foot forward. I want to create an open and safe environment where my
students feel comfortable to share and grow. I will always be kind and
honest with my students. I want them to feel as if the classroom is their
second home, a safe place to express yourself. I want to teach students
to be creative, kind, problem solvers, honesty, and communication skills. I
want my students to be able to ask for help when they need it, and not
be ashamed of getting an answer wrong. I want to break up my lectures
by giving my students a fun short video to watch that goes along with the
topic, allowing them to discuss what answer they might have to a
specified question, or even to just get up and move their bodies. It’s
important to break up lectures because it refreshes your student’s
attention span. As their teacher, I want to be flexible and adapt my
lesson plans to each class as everyone has their own unique way of
learning. When my students leave my classroom, they should leave with
the tools they need to succeed in life. I believe all students have a
chance to be successful, when given the proper tools. I want to
empower my students to do bigger and better things then they thought
possible. I believe that teaching is more than just sharing knowledge in
facts. Teaching, to me, is about inspiring your students to put a change into
the world with the knowledge and tools you’re providing them with.

EXPERIENCE
Caregiver | 2019 - 2020

I took care of my mom during her last year of her life. My day consisted of
waking up and going to check on her. She usually was still sleeping or had
just woken up. I would clean her mask, which she needed to breathe, and
while that was soaking, I would clear the gunk off her lips. When she wasn’t
as sick and could go longer without the mask, we would also brush her
teeth, but towards the end, that stopped too. She lost her voice very early
on and used a tablet to talk. I would help her communicate with her tablet
as she was almost completely paralyzed at this point. She napped on and
off throughout the day, so during those moments I would get other things
done around the house or work on homework. When she was awake, I
would prep her meals and medicine. She consumed her food and
medicine though a feeding tube which had to be properly prepared and
disbursed. If she had to use the restroom, I would have to help her on the
toilet and towards the end onto her bathing/bathroom chair. Three times a
week someone from hospice would come out to help me bathe her. I
would then get her dressed for the day and blow dry her hair. She often
had visitors coming and going throughout the days. It could be the
hospice nurse coming in to check her vitals and getting us any new cream
or prescription, a friend coming by to spend some quality time with her, a
volunteer from hospice to play her the harp or give her Reiki, or family
coming by to lend a hand. During these moments I would help her carry a
conversation and inform them on what she’s been up to. There were
several occurrences where my dad and I had to deal with medical issues
in the middle of the night. Sometimes a hospice nurse would even have to
come out to lend a hand. This was my typical day for the last 6 months of
her life, but I wouldn’t trade the quality time I spent with her for anything. It
was the hardest but most rewarding job I have ever had.

Nanny | 2018 - 2019 | Care.com

I watched Avery, 10-12, and Lucas, 8-10, before and after school every
weekday throughout the school year. I would go to there house in the
mornings and prepare their lunches for the day. I would then wake them
up and get them their breakfast. I made sure they got dressed and that
they had the proper outfit for the day, based on the weather. We would
then pile into my car and I would take them to school for the day. I would
pick them up from school and get them a snack when we got home. I
often would help with homework, when needed, and do laundry plus
some light housekeeping when they didn’t need me. Then I would help
them get ready to head out to sports. We would do outfit changes, prep a
water and snack, grab proper shoes, and head out the door to get them
there on time. I also watched them all day long during the summer. During
the summer they often had camps to go to for their sports in the mornings.
Avery’s always fell on different days than Lucas’s. When their sibling was
out at camp, we would often play board games, go swimming, or jump on
the trampoline. We would spend a lot of our time at their home but every
week we would go do something fun. I would take them to a movie, the
water park, a trampoline park, the zoo, and so many other places. It was
our favorite part of the day getting to go and explore something new
together.

Beauty Advisor (Part time Supervisor) | 2016 - 2018 | Kohl’s

I was a supervisor in the beauty department. On a daily basis I would clean

the makeup and get rid of all the fingerprints, makeup smearing, dust, and
germs off the items so they would look brand new. I would pull sold items
out of the drawers we had underneath the makeup stands. We would try

2
to keep the backstock of a specific brand underneath itself in these
drawers. I would also go to the main stockroom and pull more items we
had in the back to the floor. These were more often than not items that
didn’t have the brands displayed in the specific cases with the storage
drawers. However, we did have overfill of those brands back there as well.
I would also clean the shelving units and glass shelving that held the
perfumes. I would help customers by helping them find the best match for
their beauty needs. Whether that was new skincare, a foundation that
suited their skin type, or a fun new product to try. When we would get in
new shipments, I would work out freight and back stock the overstock to
the drawers and the cases in the main stockroom. When we would get
new products in, I would reset the floor to the new layout and set up the
proper displays. This was one of my favorite things because we had a
spotlight table that called for a featured product but had no specific
layout design. I would get to go and pick out items from around the store
and make it super eye catching. We would often use other new products
from around the store to make it all about what’s new and in. During the
holidays we would use hearts, bunnies, pumpkins, mini trees, and snowman
to showcase the new décor we had for those seasons. I also would get to
give makeovers. I would give tips and ticks while using the instore products
on the customer to show them what would look best on them.

Shoe Associate | 2015 - 2016 | Kohl’s

I worked in the Shoe department as a sales associate. I would pull

items from the shoe stockroom onto the sales floor and place them
in their proper slot when they would sell. I would also locate
overstock items in the stockroom during the holidays. We would
often get so many shoes in stock and we didn’t have enough
shelving to properly store them, we called them overstock. These
shoes would often live on the side walls of the stockroom. We had
the two walls set as locations, but it often took a while for us to find
this kind of shoe since its location wasn’t as specific as the others. I
would work with customers on the floor and go pull a specific shoe
for them if we had it in the back. I also would resort, organize, and
line up shoes on the floor. They often would get out of order after a
long day of shoppers browsing. I also would help on the registers
when we were super busy in the store, but slower in shoes.

Nanny| 2014-2015 | Care.com

I watched Ian, 7- 8, and Connor, 9-10, after school for a few hours
after school 4 days a week. I would pick them up from school and
we would go back to their house. I would get them a snack and
then we would jump right into homework. I helped them when they
asked questions and give Ian math times tests. I watched them a
few times on snow days, which were more often this year than
usual. On these days we would walk over to their friend’s house and

3
play outside together. They loved to build snowman, have snowball
fights, and make snow angels. Their friend also had a trampoline,
and we would try to make it a snow cave which they though was so
fun.
