The Art of Creative Writing

When we think about art, we usually think about painting, singing or even
dance but, writing is an art for itself. The art to put down your ideas and
emotions into words, to turn complex ideas into simple words is the art of
creative writing. The parameters of writing are different; syntax, grammar, and
so on.

Writing comes naturally to some and some need extensive research, it

depends o0n the topic/genre. Expressing your complex emotions and ideas
might seem easy to think but execution can be a little hard but the same as in
any form of art writers are compelled to express themselves and make
ordinary moments into interesting stories that enable to connect them heart
to heart. The following are some genres used frequently:

 Autobiography/Memoir
 Creative non-fiction (Personal & Journalistic Essays)
 Children's books
 Drama
 Epic
 Flash fiction
 Graphic novels/Comics
 Novel
 Novella
 Play
 Poetry
 Screenplay
 Short story
 Dialogues
 Blogs

Writing takes different techniques to achieve the desired results and audience.
Some of the techniques are:

1.Character development
2.Plot development

3.Vivid setting

4.Underlying theme

5.Point of view

6.Dialogue

7.Anecdotes

8.Metaphors and similes

9.Figures of speech

10.Imaginative language

11.Emotional appeal

12.Heavy description

The use of these techniques differs according to the genre chosen. The
techniques and words combine to create the magic we call creative writing.

Writing is all about gaining/widening your existing knowledge. While writing

you gain a lot of knowledge whether by researching on an unknown topic,
studying other's writing style or by using/learning new words it boosts your
vocabulary and knowledge of literature. Learning is an inevitable part of life
and using it to your advantage can improve you as a writer or even a human
being.

To be a writer you need to be a reader, this is important as it allows you to

grow and try new genres and styles. Reading can help to get ideas and shine
your creativity while writing.

Writings are a mix of imagination, memory, observation, curiosity, and other

cognitive skills that help inspire the base of their works of literature. Writings
don't always have to be fiction, Memoirs and personal essays, for example, can
be written creatively to inform your readers about your life in an expressive
way. We start to inculcate the art of writing since our early childhood through
different assignments provided by our school, but some make it into a real and
enjoyable hobby.

Creative writing doesn't always have to be written to share with audiences

some do it just for hobby or to keep a record of experiences or beautiful
moments they want to relive through words.

To conclude, Creative writing is a beautiful form to express all your

imagination, experiences, and emotions in the form of words. You don’t have
to be a genius of words and grammer to write, you can always learn on the
way.
