In Nutrition 409, Medical Nutrition Therapy II Lab, we used the information we learned

in Nutrition 406 about the nutrition care process and applied it to case studies about topics like

individuals with breast cancer and renal disease. We were to complete questions about the case

studies which allowed us to use critical thinking and then went on to complete ADIME notes for

each case study. The information learned in this class will definitely be useful to the future in my

clinical rotation and in my career as an RD if I am working in a clinical setting. Aside from that,

new also were able to meet with many different practicing RD’s in different fields of nutrition. It

was extremely helpful to hear what each of them does and how they got there. We were able to

ask any questions we had and ask for advice for the future.

The part of the class that stood out to me the most was definitely meeting with the

practicing RD’s. There was a wide variety of different fields they each worked in which helped

me narrow down the idea of where I would want to practice in the future. All of them were very

helpful and offered a lot of great advice that I will take on with me into my future. Another

assignment I feel like helped me a lot was this DPD portfolio because it will be used in the

internship application process. It was very helpful to have so much guidance and help to

complete this assignment.

Due to COVID-19, we did have to have this class completely online. This is the class I

would have loved to have in person the most, because we would have been able to take field trips

to these guest speaker’s work facilities. I still loved meeting with the RD’s over zoom, but being

able to see their work spaces would have been a great experience. Overall, I really enjoyed this

class and it was one of my favorite classes this semester.
