“Helping Our Customers Achieve Superior Results”

R&D Testing
Canrig fully tests all equipment prior to delivery.
Whether it’s an existing product or a new product
in development. This ensures that our client’s
expectations are surpassed.

Testing can include:

• Function • Safety interlocks
• Fit • Load
• Controls • Integrity

Custom test frames can be erected at our facilities,

allowing our clients to witness the equipment testing.

Super Singles Automated Tubular Handling System

Canrig specifically designed this system for a super
singles rig. It allows full automation of the entire
handling process, excluding the need for manual
intervention. As a result, it requires a reduced number
of personnel to operate the rig. The system can
manage the tubulars to and from the rig, directly from
vertical to horizontal – “hands-free.” Using this multi-
functional philosophy, the system can operate safely
with high efficiency and speed.
Pipe Racking
Canrig has become one of the world’s leading suppliers of pipe handling and pipe racking systems which are
available for all applications. The company achieved this position through both the development of new products
in-house, as well as acquired technologies.

As our industry progresses toward modern drilling applications, the need for mechanized and automated handling
solutions becomes greater. Canrig offers the latest technology for handling solutions, whether it be mechanized, semi-
automated or fully automated pipe racking systems for both offshore and onshore needs. These can be configured
to meet all types of rigs and applications. From tailing tubulars onto a rig floor, to a complete hands-free system
incorporating racking, standbuilding and lay down operations – we have the solution.

Available systems:
• Bridge rackers
• 2 x arm systems
• 3 x systems
• Column rackers
• iRacker™ (racker and standbuilder combined) Automated ground handling system
• Super single rackers
• Offline standbuilding
• Underslung rackers
• Tailing arms
• Lower guide arms
• Drill floor manipulator arms
• Racking boards
• Catwalk machines
• Pipe handling cranes
• Pipe loading arms
• Horizontal to vertical arms

PORTABLE PIPE RACKER™ (PPR)

The Canrig Portable Pipe Racker™ has a lightweight yet strong

design which makes it suitable for use on smaller masts.
Loads are transferred directly to both the front and back legs
of the masts.

Key features are:

• Lightweight
• Quick rig up/rig down time
• Ease of installation
• Portable
• Low cost

MOBILE PIPE HANDLING UNIT™ (MPU)

Canrig’s Mobile Pipe Handling Unit (MPU) is an integrated pipe handling and
pipe feeding system for land operations. The system shown utilizes a raised
catwalk, a knuckleboom crane and a pipe tailing arm. The raised catwalk
ensures delivery to the drill floor with a dedicated tool joint presentation angle.
The knuckleboom crane mechanically loads the tubulars from the ground storage
to the catwalk machine. The tailing arm ensures a safe delivery of the tubular to
the vertical mode without manual intervention.
Bridge crane racking
The Bridge Racker pipe handling system is rated
from 3 to 12 tonnes and is capable of lifting and
racking stands of drill pipe and drill collars (to 9
5/8"). The Bridge Racker is mounted at around
100 feet in the derrick (15 feet higher than the
racking board) and collects the stands from the
traveling assembly and stores them in the racking
boards, or vice versa.

GRIPPER HEAD
Pipe gripper heads are an essential part of any mechanized
pipe handling system. The gripper head delivers the tubular in a
reliable and safe manner. Canrig has a range of gripper heads to
suit various applications:

• Pipe handling cranes – horizontal to horizontal

• HTV arms – horizontal to vertical
• Column rackers – vertical to vertical

Canrig’s range of gripper heads can handle tubulars up to 13-

3/8" and above in some cases. Our gripper heads are designed
with integral safety interlocks which ensure the safe handling of
tubulars and anti-collision with other equipment.
