Artist Statement Worksheet

Choose one monoprint, or one edition, to answer the following questions. Use this
sheet to guide you, and create an artist statement that will be placed in your process
portfolio slides. Each prompt should be answered in 2 or more sentences. Do not
turn this sheet in, it is just to help you!

1. A connection to the Baxter Mill Textile Archive images, whether it is a pattern


that was inspiring or a more personal connection.

2. An explanation of how you used elements & principles, specifically 3 of the 6


from your warm-up on Wednesday.

3. How you developed your design based on your warm-up, and with the
influence of the two above criteria.

4. Give the viewer some insight into your process of experimenting with the
tools, design, and printing process.

5. What do you feel you have successfully accomplished?

6. What is something you would change about any part of the design/process,
or something you would like to push further?
