Job Responsibility:
1) My First Day at Bank as a interne student:
I joined in the Sonali Bank Limited on 28th January from that day to still I work in the Foreign
Exchange & Remittance (FE & R) section & General Banking section. As a interne student one
should start work in the general banking section but my branch manager AJOY CHOWDHURY
(P.O) sir said by mentioned a name of one of the senior officer MARYAM AKTER from clearing
section go to her and follow her instruction. I go there and talk to her she had taken all the
documents and refer me to another senior officer SM SHAFIQUZZAMAN from (FE&R) section. I
go there and by respecting I showed my documents, he said me to sit beside him and I follow
accordingly what he instructed me. After few minutes introducing myself in detail, he briefly
described what I have to do in this internship period. Then he said me about a software which
name is CORE BANKING SYSTEM (CBS). By this software specific branches are run their
operations. He gave me the password of few supporting softwares by which I can work in my
section.
2) My Responsibility:
During last three weeks I worked in the foreign exchange & remittance and general banking
section. My task is giving incentive bonus to the client. How I gave the 2% incentive to my
client over foreign remittance by CBS software that described below.
At first, logged in CBS software then click on transection-entries- foreign remittance incentive
payment, then a webpage shows where I give the pin number of the client. After that I used the
Nid number of the beneficiary debit the amount and print the voucher. Next I take the sign of
beneficiary or my client. After that I give the document to my senior officer to authorize the
transection he give it to the another officer from clearing section and then the client go to the
counter to withdraw the amount.

Moreover I worked with general banking though I,m not deal with the client but I just support
the senior officer ASMA KHANOM from General Banking & DPS.
To become the client of the bank a person needs to open an account. It is a legal contract
between the bank and the client. A properly completed account opening from is the
contractual document. I helped the clients by telling them the perquisites for opening accounts.
Prerequisites for opening an account by a person are:
• Photocopy of national ID card/passport/certificate from Ward Commissioner.
• Introducing the account opener by an account holder of this branch.
• Two copies passport size color photograph attested by the introducer.
• Photocopy of TIN certificate if available

Account Opening
Sonali Bank Limited has the following types of accounts:
• Current account.
• Savings account.
• Fixed Deposit Receipts (FDR).
To become the client of the bank a person needs to open an account. It is a legal contract
between the bank and the client. A properly completed account opening from is the
contractual document. I helped the clients by telling them the perquisites for opening accounts.
Prerequisites for opening an account by a person are:
• Photocopy of national ID card/passport/certificate from Ward Commissioner.
• Introducing the account opener by an account holder of this branch.
• Two copies passport size color photograph attested by the introducer.
• Photocopy of TIN certificate if available.
• The account opening procedure is shown in the flow chart presented below.
• Before opening an account, the following formalities have to be completed by the
customer:
• Filling up a prescribed form.
• Introduction of the customer by a client of the branch of the bank.
• Two copies of recent color photograph of the account holder’s duty attested by the
introducer.
• One copy passport size photograph of nominees attested by the customer.
• Putting three specimen signatures of the customer in the ‘Specimen Signature card’.

Many customers sometimes feel to problem to fill up the from I helped them to fill up the form

software.
Contribution (suggestion):
This is a govt. bank few months later it will become a enrolled in the SEC. I think as a govt. they
need to develop many banking systems still they use many manual systems. I talk with my
officer he said it take time to shift full digitalization for this bank because there so many senior
bankers who worked for this bank more than 15 years so they do the manual task like giving
govt. allowance for old aged , freedom fighter , transgender and autistic people.
Critical Incidence
During my time I haven’t seen any critical incidence, but sometimes poor people or old aged
people make the bank so noisy though they don’t understand.
Recommendation
What I can recommend that is recruit few more employees for giving fastest banking, I saw if
their few more officer or social service officer added with the current officers then giving
allowance, taking utility bill and other service giving will be easier then now. Customer no need
to wait for much time to getting service.
