Assembling the Tank Stand

Two persons can assemble the Tank Stand on a flat level area. Assembly is undertaken while
the Tank Stand is lying flat on level ground. The water tanks and plumbing equipment are also
installed while the Tank Stand is lying flat on the ground. When completely assembled the Tank
Stand is then lifted upright into position.

Note:
• Loosely fit all nuts and bolts (finger tighten only) until the entire Tank Stand is assembled
on the ground.
• After assembly tighten all nuts and bolts - start at one end of the Tank Stand and
progressively work along each side until the entire Tank Stand is tightened. When
completed carry out an inspection of every nut and bolt to ensure all are tightened.
• When completed the Tank Stand can be lifted upright into position.

Step 1. Construct Base

Step 2. Add Lower Platform
Step 3. Construct Upper section & Top Platform
Step 4. Add Tanks, Tighten Bolts, and Add Plumbing

• Place the Drinking Water Tank in position in the mid cube of the Tank Stand prior to
connecting the last bracing section.
• Tighten all bolts on the Tank Stand. Start at one end of the Tank Stand and
systematically work along the frame until tightening is completed. Once completed
recheck each row of bolts to make sure all are tightened. Be careful not to over
tighten nuts and bolts as this may strip the thread or shear off the bolt head.
• Place the Raw Water Tank in position on top of Tank Stand as shown and secure in
position using the tension straps and cam-buckles.
• Connect the plumping pipes to the Raw Water Tank as shown below. Use tie-
connectors to secure the pipes to the Tank Stand.
Step 5. Raise Into Position
Before raising the Tank Stand into position make sure strong level foundations
suitable to support the loaded weight of the structure have been installed. This can be
a concrete slab or support pads. See Appendix # 3 for further information.

Prior to raising the Tank Stand check that any add-on kits such as hose kit #1, hose
work Kit #2, Advertising Banner Kit (refer to add on kits in step no 7 below) are
completed.

When ready, raise the Tank Stand into position with the assistance of four or more
persons.

Once raised into position the Tank Stand needs to be anchored to prevent overturning
in strong winds. Use the Tank Stand Concrete Anchoring Kit for concrete slabs or use
the Tank Stand Ground Anchoring Kit for open ground installations.
Appendix # 1 – Operating System Overview
Raw water from ponds or other sources is pumped to a
header tank located on top of the Tower tank-stand.

The raw water in the header tank then gravity flows down
through pipes and through the water filter unit to produce
drinking water.

The drinking water is piped to the filtrate storage tank

located on the lower level of the Tank Stand, which is
connected with drinking water taps.

Appendix # 2- Maintenance
The Tank Stand needs to be inspected regularly (six monthly) to ensure it remains in a safe condition. An anti
corrosion paint may need to be applied to areas if surface rust appears.

Appendix # 3 - Foundation Support

Locate suitable foundation material on which to construct a concrete slab. The concrete slab will act both as a
structural support and as an anchor to prevent the Tank Stand from being blown over in strong winds. When
mounting the Tank Stand on a concrete slab use the anchors supplied and position one on each corner.
The Tank Stand needs to be located on solid level foundations to support the loaded weight of the structure. The
foundation supports should be of a suitable material to avoid sinking in wet conditions and must be completely level
to evenly support the Tank Stand. Uneven supports can cause structural stress to the Tank Stand eventually
causing collapse.
The Tank Stand also needs to be anchored to prevent overturning in strong winds.
