Introduction Reservoir characterization is a process to

describe qualitatively and / or
quantitatively the reservoir character using
all available data (Sukmono, 2002).
Reservoir characterization is important to
do to determine the subsurface conditions,
especially the oil and gas reservoir.
Reservoir characterization can be
determined by knowing the distribution
porosity. In determination Reservoir
characterization method that is widely used
is the acoustic impedance inversion seismic
method. Acoustic Impedance (IA) is the
ability of rocks to pass seismic waves which
are the product of rock density and velocity.
Acoustic impedance is also influenced by the
type of lithology, pressure, temperature,
porosity and fluid content. Acoustic
impedance inversion method is a process
for converting seismic data into acoustic
impedance data.
In this study, the inversion method was used
acoustic impedance due to the results of this
inversion can provide a true picture of the
subsurface, so that it can map the
distribution of the porosity of the target
reservoir
Research purposes to determine the acoustic impedance value
the result inversion on reservoir, estimate
the porosity value of a rock on the reservoir,
and map the distribution pattern of the
reservoir through analysis of acoustic
impedance and porosity values.

RESEARCH METHODS this research uses post stack 3D seismic

data, log data (comprises from well log data,
marker data, vertical data Seismic Profile),
and horizon data. Besides the data on above
is also used supporting data such as data
regional geology and the stratigraphy of the
study area. Software used in this research is
the Humpson Russel CE8 / R4

Research Result The results of the crossplot and cross

section show that low acoustic impedance
values are associated with high porosity.
This zone shows differences in the
distribution of porosity in the target zone
which is a sandstone with a greater porosity
than the formation with shale rock

The result of the inversion Linear

Programming Sparse Spike shows low
anomaly on acoustic impedance, namely
2000 m / s * gr / cc - 3458 m / s * gr / cc
which is marked in green with a depth of
about 1500-1700 ms.

The porosity conversion results from the

single attribute show that the acoustic
impedance inversion is in the low
impedance zone, so that the porosity
conversion output shows high porosity .The
porosity distribution obtained in this study
is good, which reaches an average value of
30% of the reservoir zone shown in yellow
Conclusion Acoustic impedance model results in the
Model Based shows a more correlation
value height and the smallest error, but very
much depend on the initial model and have
low reflectivity. While the results
acoustic impedance model using the
method Linear Programming Sparse Spike
show good correlation and error
small because it does not depend on the
initial model, so it's good to use for that
target has a high reflectivity value.
2. In this study it is more suitable to use
Sparse Spike Linear Programming method
because the acoustic impedance has a value
high reflectivity.
3. The inversion result shows the acoustic
impedance
is in the low impedance zone between
2000 m / s * gr / cc - 3458 m / s * gr / cc a
shown in green with a depth of about 1500-
1700 ms. Porosity distribution in this study
yields an average porosity of 30%
from the target reservoir.
4. In the slicing porosity data, the impedance
value acoustics are at a low anomaly
has high porosity.
