HOW GLOBAL MEDIA AFFECTS US FILIPINOS

There are 76 million active Filipino social media users and 71 percent of the
entire population.

Social Media helps Filipinos to utilize the platform as a virtual meeting place
outside the classroom and offices, where homework and business plan is discussed,
readings are shared, and announcements are made. Social media platforms are easily
accessible and offer more room for interaction than our typical bulletin board. Social
Media also helps us filipinos and different organization here in the philipines to remain
connected and update in everything that was happening to our country. Social media in
this modern technology has so much to give to Filipino people, they help people find
ways, help people to find recent news and help people with advertising.

There are also negative impacts of social media on our youth as well. One of the
negative impacts is cyber bullying, which is very common now a days on internet.
Example, there are videos on social networking websites that shows violence and these
videos could lead to affect the behavior of teens. By watching violence they became
more aggressive, their behavior with their family changes and their minds become
assertive, this could ultimately affect their living in the society.
