“ A ROSE FOR EMILY”

A rose for Emily is a story about a girl that suffers from a fear of change.
Emily’s father passes and her lover is soon to leave her too. In the story she is
so scared of being alone she actually pushes everyone away. Emily lose her
love on and I think every person can understand how it eels to lose somebody
especially her father. Some people just kept it within them them, you will not
see them crying. They act like its all okay and normal but deep inside they are
breaking down. In the case of Emily she denied her feelings for three days. She
though all of this is not real that is why she still keep her fathers body even
though ministers and doctors are persuading her to dispose the body. Along
with her father’s death, she also figure out that her lover will soon leaver
anytime soon that make things much more harder on Emily. She tries so hard
to hold on the past which do not help her. The harder she tries to hold on the
more she destroy herself. She does not want to change anything. In the
conclusion Emily does not want to be alone but in the result she was more
lonely than before.

“ FOOTNOTE TO YOUTH”

Dudong is a seventeen year old who is impatiently waiting for his father to
return home so that he can tell him of his love for Teang and his desire to
marry her. He feels that at seventeen he is a grown man and is ready for the
next important step in his life. His father has a long and cruel silence then ask
him why should he marry? As we see in this context Dudong is a typical young
boy nowadays full of love and desire thinking that marriage is such as easy to
think it is not only in marriage even in other situation. Teenager nowadays if
they want or desire something or someone they just act in a rush they don’t
think twice they want to have it right here right now. Nine months later,
Dudong is waiting outside while Teang is giving birth to their First son at first
his full of joy thinking he is a father right now. If others saw their son they will
tell him Dudong you’re a father but his day dream fade a way when his mother
call him to come inside. At some point in his life he felt embarrassed seeing
his parents calling him and began to think back all he did is ask his self and be
disappointed at the choices he make nine months ago. He did not want
anymore child but after six years Teang gave birth to another child. Seven
Children in all. Teang also began to think twice about the decision she made.
She look back and imagine her life if he did not marry dudong in an early age
will it be much better? She love dudong and the same way as he love her but it
is enough reason to marry in an early age? In few more years Blas turned
eighteen one late nigh while dudong can’t sleep he saw blas thinking so deeply
when he asked him blas said to him “ Itay I love Tean and I want to marry her”
Dudong already knows what will happen to Blas. He want to object but he saw
his younger self talking to his father and thinking of resenting him for not
allowing him to marry the girl she love. At that moment in his life he cant do
anything God knows how much he does not want to agree but he had no
choice but to feel sad and sorry.

Footnote is simply defined as a note at the foot of the page. It is often used to
give additional Information to the reader regarding certain words or phrases
in the text. In this story for me the footnote is his father or his parents. From
learning how to take your first step our parents is in our back supporting and
guiding us until we grow old have our ow n family they are still there to help
us and guide us. I remember my parents always tell us that one of the key to
success is to obey our parents and respect them. When we grow up and have
our own family and children we will understand why they do these things to
us. The youth here is Dudong and Teang like I said nowadays there are many
teenagers who just think everything around them is easy. They don’t think
twice in the things they do, they think that if their parents become strict with
them and told them not to these things because it might harm them they don’t
love them and caging them which is not true. My parents used to this be strict
and all especially when we are young but as we grow up they began to put
their trust on us let us do things but we always have our limitations. Love is
just there why don’t we try to finish our studies achieve every dream we have
in our bucket list and when the right time comes and you think you are ready
to take next step in your life in your proper age they will just be there to
support us and guide us again and I think that in the most important thing to
keep in mind.
