Cloper is a clothes recommendation app that helps you
find what clothes best suits you based
on your body type, features and requirements

Intro Current research shows that, as the number of options increases, so does
the level of complexity of the decision itself. While shopping online people
get confused comparing between an infinite number of choices and can’t
understand what might suit them. The absence of support that most
customers are used to in the in-store experience is missing makes it hard to
compare between different styles, and it's hard to know for sure how they
will fit.

Research I carried out informal interviews with my friends to understand the problem
faced by customers while online apparel purchasing and created a user
journey map.

Journey Map

Scenario- Rahul wants to buy a shirt for a house party this weekend. He doesn’t have time for
returning a shirt and getting another one if this one doesn’t fit. He has no particular kind of shirt
in mind which he wants to buy.

Pain points 1. There are too many options available which many times leaves the
customer feeling overwhelmed and it's hard to make any choice.

2. Every apparel style doesn’t suit everyone. If a particular T-Shirt looks good
on the model doesn’t mean it will look good on you. Also, people don’t know
how the shirt looks on an average person ( not model ).

3. Lets be honest, most of us are no fashion experts and have no clue about
what apparel style they should go for. Very few people have

3. Customers don’t know their actual measurements like if their shoulders are
17” or 17.5”.

4. Different clothing brands use different size charts i.e. if you wear M size of
‘X’ brand doesn’t mean M size of brand ‘Y’ will fit you.

Solution Every customer and their requirements, body shape, measurements, and
preferences are different. You can’t show everything to everyone and if you do
it might leave your customer feeling overwhelmed and confused.
To provide a better solution we need to understand all these requirements.
Two basic things that we need to understand is what suits the customer and
what will fit your customer

need we need to know customers body features and
the apparel style which suits on person with those
body features. To do so we can ask for a full-body
image of the customer, using the image we can get to
know about his/her body shape, complexion and other
features that can be used to recommend clothes.

We can ask our customers to select the size of brands

they usually wear (for eg Nike-M, Puma-L) to suggest
what size of shirt (or any other clothing) of the other
