A star at 15
Lorna Want is from Coventry, in England. She goes to the Heart of England School. She’s a typical girl of
fifteen. She likes the TV show Friends, she loves spending money, and she adores shopping, in her bedroom,
there are posters of Jennifer Aniston.
But Lorna’s real passion is for performing onstage. At the moment, she’s living in London, and she isn’t
in school. Why? Because she’s playing Juliet in a rock-opera version of Romeo and Juliet.
Lorna isn’t alone in London. “My mom, Christine is here”, she says. “So is my brother, James.
Unfortunately my dad, Tony isn’t here. He is at home, but we see him on weekends. He is so proud of me. This
is my first big part. Every young girl wants to play Juliet. It’s very romantic”.
Unlike Juliet, Lorna doesn’t have a boyfriend. But as she plays onstage, she loves Romeo as if he were
real.
What about her school work while she is busy with the play? Well, she does this only when she has free
time in her schedule. She’s taking exams in nine subjects next year, so she can’t miss classes!
