Bear Grylls to visit Falcon’s Lair for promotional charity event

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (Nov. 5, 2019) — On Nov. 23, Bear Grylls — British celebrity and survival

instructor — will make an appearance at local outdoor equipment retailer, Falcon’s Lair, to host

the Bear in the Lair event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Offering a Shop with Bear discount, a portion of

the day’s proceeds will go to Grylls’ home charity, Jolt Trust: A charity that organizes

extraordinary adventures for young individuals with physical and mental disabilities.

“Bear Grylls’ appearance at our event will bring in more locals to our store and create a stronger

relationship with the customers we already have. The 20% storewide discount will help families

and novice hiking individuals feel more at ease when buying our equipment. Children will also

get to see Grylls’ adventurous memorabilia throughout the store,” said James McGyver, Falcon’s

Lair general manager.

Catering to both families and experienced hikers from across the Lehigh Valley area, the

Falcon’s Lair’s knowledgeable staff will conduct free public hiking workshops on a variety of

hiking and climbing tactics for individuals of all ages. The Bear in the Lair event will feature a

free public autograph signing and hiking equipment demonstration with Bear Grylls. Grylls will

share his hiking safety tips and top hiking and climbing opportunities within the area.

Additionally, a donation from the day’s event will be made in Falcon’s Lair’s name to Grylls’

charity, Jolt Trust.

“I’m so grateful for Falcon’s Lair’s event contribution to my charity. Jolt Trust’s an organization

that helps organize expeditions for disadvantaged people. With Falcon’s Lair’s donation, more

children like our recent recipient Colin O’Gara, will get to participate in these expeditions and

live their dreams. Colin is a lucky individual who was chosen by Jolt Trust to go on their

upcoming expedition. “We’re looking forward to helping Colin stock up for his expedition at

Falcon’s Lair — with some helpful survival tips too, of course,” said Bear Grylls, the

experienced celebrity hiker and Jolt Trust’s vice president.
