so when your neighbor A knocks on the door to ask you to turn the volume down,
there is NO way he/she will ruin your party.
14 A: Your neighbor’s balcony is a mess. They’re never home, so they never clean
it; It has trash, dead plants, and dog’s poop. It stinks so bad you can smell from
your balcony. Tell your neighbor that she has to clean it or you will report her
to the authorities (當局、政府、權威). Be very angry and aggressive (好鬥、侵
略性、帶攻擊性), because she is famous for her rudeness.
B: The crazy neighbor next door is complaining about the smell of your balcony.
You have four dogs, six cats, and two children, so it’s almost impossible to keep it
clean. Explain to him/her very seriously and calmly that if they want you to clean
the balcony, they should help you do it.

NT50,000, you will have to stay there for two weeks. You have one phone call. Call
your parent and ask them to send you money.

Go to his/her table, introduce yourself, and see if there is something you can
help him/her with.
B: You are on holiday at a restaurant in the U.S. You had a horrible experience at
the restaurant. Complain to the manager and try to get a refund.
17 A: You are a college professor. A student has asked to talk to you at your office
today.
B: You are a student and you recently failed a major final exam. Now you cannot
graduate. Think of an excuse for why you failed and try to convince the professor to
let you write it again.
