Squash and stretch

Is the principle of applying a contrasting change of shape from a squash pose


or vice versa to give a feeling of flexibility and life in the animation?

Staging

Making sure everything is going well

Helps communicate actions to the audience by preparing’s them for an


action, such as crouching before jumping.

Straight ahead and pose to pose

Straight ahead technique means to animate your action from drawing 1 to


the end in sequence order. Once the key poses are done. The breakdown and
in between drawings are added to fill the rest of the animation.

Follow through and over lapping action

Is a idea that loosely connected parts of the body or objects will continue
moving after the characters has stopped and overlapping action is a similar
idea in that, it describes how different parts of the body or object tend to
make at different rates.

Slow in and slow out

Refers to the timing of an object of figure at the beginning or end of a


sequence.

Arcs

The visual path of an object or action e.g., prose tile o f a bouncing ball or
bath of a moving arm.
