The festival of corn, sorbo and arepa

The festival of corn, sorbo and arepa is set up on june 29, 1999 in Ramiriqui Boyaca. In
order to show the community the different products obtained from corn, mainly the
elaboration of typical doughs of the region, the festival does not only consist of the
demonstration of the typical gastronomy, but also different activities are carried out during
June 29 and 30. Among these activities there are dances, musical performances by the
bands of the region, cultural interventions such as verses, verses, poems referring mainly to
corn or the peasant community of Boyacá. For 8 years the festival worked to the point that
it is now known as the International Corn Festival in which not only the above is carried
out but there are also presentations by foreign guests who are also dedicated to the
production of corn, inviting people such as Mexico, Spain, Argentina and among others in
order to find out information and make known to society what is done in Boyaca and
incidentally learn more about the production and different uses that people have found for
corn.
