I. Introduction

A. “I am in Birmingham because injustice is here.” (King Jr. 1)

B. Martin Luther King Jr. And Aung San Suu Kyi, are two important people that decided to rule with

the difference of not using violence throughout their journeys to become the legends they are

today.

C. Martin Luther King and San Suu Kyi are similar in regards to equality and their justice through

non-violent means; however, they differ in relation to their fights to their country’s.

II. Body Paragraph 1

A. Martin Luther King Jr. and San Suu Kyi were both in argument for the equality of human rights.

1. Proof: King Jr. states how the brutality and unjust treatment in the courts are

engaged to the “Negro” community.

2. Proof: King Jr. states the negotiation to a broken promise against the racial profiling.

3. Proof: King Jr. was the president of the organization “Alabama Christian Movement

for Human Rights.

A. King Jr. and Suu Kyi were non-violent activist fighting for justice.

1. Proof: King Jr. was asked to attend to Birmingham “to engage in a nonviolent direct

action program”.

2. Proof: King Jr. gives a specific statement to “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice

everywhere.” (King Jr. 1)

3. Proof: Suu Kyi wanted to give the country confidence in her decision.

3. Proof: Suu Kyi gave her people the confidence to have a Democratic State.

B. King Jr. and Suu Kyi non-violent actions gave the people hope for each of their countries.

A. King Jr. and Suu Kyi differ in regards to their non-violent fights towards their country’s.

1. Proof: King Jr. keeps his fight through the human rights then through political fights. .

2. Proof: King Jr. keeps his statements of non-violent action through his organizations.

3. Proof: Suu Kyi wanted to give her people a new way of living and her country hope.

3. Proof: Suu Kyi made her points clear and made all her viewers visualize how the

change would benefit them.

B. King Jr. and Suu Kyi were both peacefully fighting to make each of their countries great again,

although using different strategies.

A. Martin Luther King and San Suu Kyi are similar in regards to equality and their justice through

non-violent means; however, they differ in relation to their fights to their country’s.

A. Evaluation of Similarities and Differences

a. Their similarities showed their efforts towards peacefully fighting for their countries,

where their differences showed their strategies on doing it.

B. What’s the Significance? Both King Jr. and Suu Kyi fought peacefully to make their countries a

better place and give their people hope to a new better life, from both of their writings they

showed no matter the consequences for working to do the right things, everything is possible.
