Help Basics
Roche/Hitachi 912 analyzer Help offers a quick way to find information, such as
explanations of screen and windows and how to perform a particular procedure.
You can get Help while using the analyzer software by touching a Help Command
Button.
Within a Help topic, there may be one or more jumps which you can touch (or select
and press <ENTER>) to display a new Help topic or more information about the
current topic. These jumps may be underlined green text, a button or a graphic.
Choosing a Jump
Help topics can include graphics or text that link to:
• more information about the current topic
• other Help topics.
Jumps are usually identified by underlined green text, a button or a graphic. When
you point to a jump, the pointer changes to a hand shape.
To choose a jump do one of the following:
• Touch the text or graphic
• Point to the text or graphic and click the left mouse button
• Point to the text or graphic and click the left (top) trackball button
• Press <TAB> to select the jump and press <ENTER>
• To move backward and select a jump, press <SHIFT+TAB>.
The term “Touch” is used throughout Help. When this term is used you can do any
n of the following and achieve the same results:
• Touch the text, button or graphic
• Point to the text, button or graphic and click the left mouse button
• Point to the text, button or graphic and click the left (top) trackball button.
If the jump you choose is linked to another topic, that topic appears in the Help
window. Sometimes a jump is linked to information that appears in a secondary
window or a pop-up window.
Secondary Window
Pop-up Window
You can browse through topics and go back to topics you have previously viewed.
You can search for specific information or display Help Contents. You can also
choose a jump to go to a new Help topic.
Backtracking Through Help Topics:
Use the Back button to go back through the Help topics you have viewed, in the
order in which you viewed them. If there is no previous topic to view, the Back button
is dimmed. The record of topics you have viewed is deleted each time you exit Help.
To backtrack through Help topics: choose the Back button on the Help button bar.
You return to the previously viewed topic. The topic appears as you left it, unless you
resized the window before backtracking.
1. To find out about special wash, you could type the words “special wash” in
box 1 (or select them from the list in the search window).
2. Topics that have the words “special wash” associated with them would then be
listed in box 2, index list.
3. Touch the topic you want from the list and then touch the Display command
button to view the selected topic.
The items on the screen (shown in green underlined text and buttons) are then
available for you to select (touch) to reveal pop up windows containing specific field
information. Other related Help pages are displayed when you touch the Help global
button in the various windows of the Reagent menu.
When you have finished with Help, touch the Exit button or press <Esc> to exit.
