Professional Dispositions Assessment

Grand Canyon University: SPD-590

Christina L. Knappert
Due: September 16th, 2020
My personal professional disposition is to apply my education combined with life and work experiences to

provide a personalized education plan in support of the student’s learning and development. Although I agree and

strongly agree with a majority of the self-assessment, the next step is to apply those statements in correlation to my

performance. I believe I have grown throughout my program of study by increasing my understanding of the education

systems and procedures such as writing a complete lesson plan, creating measurable and attainable goals that can be

modified to fit and support the need(s) of my students and the class as a whole.

I believe and treat students with dignity and respect, even when they do not reciprocate. The student will be able

to observe a standard of behavior as I demonstrate the classroom expectation and appropriate use of communication. I
assess the student’s current performance levels and create a plan that will work towards incremental progress of personal

goals.

With the normalization of social media, especially in the age of COVID-19, students will attempt to cross

boundaries into my personal life. It is my obligation to “promote safety, and health in the well-being of my students by

maintaining appropriate personal privacy while establishing physical, emotional, and social boundaries” (MCEE, n.d.).

During student teaching, I will create the necessary steps in improving my ability to maintain a professional relationship

with all students; it is my job to create a learning environment beneficial to the development of the student’s self-

confidence and competence. I will continue to develop strategies to accommodate students with different needs and

capabilities as I gain experience working with various student in different learning environments.
