BLENDED/HOME-BASED/SELF-PACED LEARNING FOR SY 2020-2021

The COVID 19 pandemic poses challenges that greatly affect learners, parents and community partners. The school opening will not be the traditional face-to-
face learning in the classrooms to ensure the health, safety and well-being of all learners, teachers and personnel. NSDPHS is committed to ensure educational
continuity amidst the challenges through the utilization of alternative learning delivery modalities; blended/ home-based/self-paced learning. Modular activities
will be prepared for students to answer in their respective homes with the guidance of their parents/guardians. There will be 30-minute orientation on what to
do for every module. Teachers’ consultation may be scheduled if students deemed it necessary through phone, email, facebook or in person here in school.
Answered activities will be submitted back to teachers scheduled time on which they will be given another sheets of modular activities.

3. Appreciate with the connection with Philippine’s rich past through the different literary forms

Integrate the importance of Philippine Literature in understanding one’s culture.
Content Notes
The diversity and richness of Philippine Literature this showcase a rich past through their folk speechless, folk songs, folk narratives and indigenous
rituals and mimetic dances that affirm our ties with Southeast Asian neighbors. It has vast collection of folk speeches such as: riddle or tigmo in Cebuano
(bugtong in tagalog, paktakon in Ilonggo and patototdon in Bohol), Proverbs or aphorism – express norms or codes of behavior, community beliefs or they instill
values by offering bits of wisdom in short, rhyming verse, tanaga – a mono-riming heptasyllabic (7) quatrain (4 line-stanza) expressing insights and lessons on
life. We have also a folk song – expresses the hopes and aspirations, the peoples lifestyles as well as their loves; often repetitive and sonorious, narrative song –
uses for its subject matter the exploits of historical example: Myths and legendary heroes and folk narratives – epic and folk tales are varied, exotic and
magical.
Learning Activities:
General Instruction: In your book, read the Myth “Malakas and Maganda”. Answer the following questions in complete sentence. Write it in your answer
notebook. (35 pts)

1. Who is Sarimanok?
2. Why did Sarimanok irritated Dagat?
3. What did the annoyed Dagat do to Langit? How did Langit react to Dagat’s reaction?
4. How did the war end?
5. Who were the first man and woman according to the story? How did they come into being?
6. Do you think Sarimanok intentionaly caused a war between Langit and Dagat so that islands would be form? Cite details that support your answer.
7. What does the creation myth say about the Philippines? The Filipinos?
